South Node in the 10th House
The South Node in the tenth house describes the public role as the practised setting: responsibility, status, and being seen to manage.
The capacity is real and usually visible early. This placement knows how to be relied on in public and how to carry a title.
The North Node opposite in the fourth asks for private ground, and a tenth-house South Node answers by achieving something instead.
The tradition reads it as competent, dutiful, and inclined to define itself by what it is responsible for.
What this placement does well and what it costs
What it is good at
Any position that needs somebody to be answerable and to look answerable.
What it asks for
A life is measured by the role, and the fourth house asks what is left when the role stops.
The two halves of this placement
A planet says what, a house says where in a life it happens. The sign it sits in says how, and that is a third reading again.
This placement needs your birth time
Your South Node sign depends only on the date. Its house depends on the horizon at the moment you were born, and the whole framework rotates by one house roughly every two hours. An hour of error moves about half a house, which is frequently the difference between this page and the one next to it.
If a free chart gave you houses without asking for a time, it assumed one, usually noon or midnight. Check the placement before you build anything on it.
Where is your South Node?
The chart is free, takes a birth time, and gives you every planet by sign and by house, with the aspects between them.
