The daily sky quiz

Five questions about where the planets actually are today, generated from the same ephemeris the charts on this site are calculated from. Everybody gets the same five, and they change at midnight.

Where these questions come from

Nothing here was written by hand. Each question is generated from the positions of the planets at midday UTC on the day you are reading it, computed with the Swiss Ephemeris, which is the same source the birth charts and the daily readings on this site use. Every answer is a fact you can check against any other ephemeris, an almanac, or in some cases the sky itself.

There are 10 kinds of question and only 5 are asked, because some cannot be asked truthfully on some days. There is no out of bounds question when nothing is out of bounds, and no question about which planet is retrograde when only one answer would be defensible or none would. The day decides which ones can be built, and the rest sit out rather than being padded with a guess.

Computed for Tuesday, 11 August 2026 at 12:00 UTC.

Come back tomorrow

A new five at midnight UTC, and the same five for everybody, so a score is worth comparing. If you would rather be marked on what you know than on what the sky is doing today, the knowledge quiz has a bank that does not move.
