North Node in the 4th House

The North Node in the fourth house points at the private ground: home, family, and having a base that is not a stage.

The fourth house is the bottom of the chart and the least visible part of a life. The tradition reads this nodal position as growth through building something that nobody applauds.

The South Node in the tenth is the familiar half: status, career, the public account of who somebody is. That is described as well practised and as the reflex to fall back on when the private business gets difficult.

It is commonly associated with a slow reordering, in which the outer achievement stops being the point without ever being abandoned.

What this placement does well and what it costs

What it is good at

Anything that makes a life liveable rather than impressive. Also genuine repair of family ground, which this placement is specifically read for.

What it asks for

The tenth house is where the recognition is, and the fourth pays none. That is the whole difficulty.

The two halves of this placement

A planet says what, a house says where in a life it happens. The sign it sits in says how, and that is a third reading again.

This placement needs your birth time

Your North Node sign depends only on the date. Its house depends on the horizon at the moment you were born, and the whole framework rotates by one house roughly every two hours. An hour of error moves about half a house, which is frequently the difference between this page and the one next to it.

If a free chart gave you houses without asking for a time, it assumed one, usually noon or midnight. Check the placement before you build anything on it.

Where is your North Node?

The chart is free, takes a birth time, and gives you every planet by sign and by house, with the aspects between them.
